Innovative technology to be implemented soon in Coir sector

Mr. Dilip Tambyrajah Secretary of International Natural Fibres Organisation(INFO) Netherland, in his talk during the international seminar on innovations and marketing in coir sector of Coir Kerala 2014, said that the objective of the coir industry across the world is to improve the income of fiber producers and also the profit earning of the industry.  He says that coir market need to focus on JACKS (Jute, Baca, Coir, Konaf and Bisal) and its logical instrument are identified by INFO.

He also added that to make this industry profitable, challenges lies in both sector public and private and other non-governmental organization like NGO’s. He added crises in the coir industry is due to different factors like economic fall down, water scarcity, converging technology, changes in economic policies and political system across the world and its governance and even social trends happening in the world.

The important innovation can be done in two ways; one is technological innovation and also social innovation. Among the two, social innovation will be most effective to be implemented in the sector. Implementation of particular innovative technique will help to improve the exchange their ideas through communication, knowledge, proper management plans and policies, effective HR work etc., he said

Sri S.S Gupta IAS, Handicraft Development Commissioner told in his key note address that the need for Handicraft products has received good feedback in the international market.
