Coir Fest 2014 big successful: Adoor Prakash

Smt. Rani George IAS Secretary Coir said on her welcome speech that more coir societies are coming under government schemes, through this government is able to increase the wages as well as working capital. In public sector coir government interaction will be made more active, she said.

Government will be implemented the strategies that were put forward the request came from different seminars in the fest, she added.

Sri Mercy Dhayana Maasido, Municipal Chairperson Alappuzha told in her presidential address that government should make surety about maximizing the raw material for the production within the Kerala.

Hon’ble Minister for Revenue and Coir Sri Adoor Prakash, said in his inaugural speech he thanked all individual worked for the success of this great event. In his speech he also told that safety and secured will guaranteed by the government and can bring changes in the life style of coir employees.

He also said that first preference will be given to make raw material available within the state and income support scheme will be applied in private sector.

New machineries will be introduced in the sector to increase the production from limited sources of husk.

Dr. K. Madanan, Director of Development Board said in report that fourth edition of coir fest was a successful and also looking forward with next edition.

Dignitaries from different level in the society thanked the whole team worked for the success.

കയര്‍ മേഖലയിലെ കടുത്ത പ്രതിസന്ധി നേരിടുന്ന ചകിരിയുടെ ലഭ്യത കുറവിന് ശ്വാശ്വത പരിഹാരംക്കാണുന്നതിന്ന്‍ വളരെ നല്ല ആശയങ്ങള്‍ തൊഴിലാളികള്‍ മുന്നോട്ടുവയ്ക്കുകയും അത് മന്ത്രി സ്വീകരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു .

അടിസ്ഥാന സൗകര്യം, ചകിരിയുടെലഭ്യതക്കൂട്ടല്‍, ഇ.എസ്.ഐ, പി.എഫ്‌ തുടങ്ങി ആനുക്കൂല്യം തൊഴിലാളികള്‍ക്ക് ലഭ്യമാക്കാന്‍ മന്തി പ്രത്യേകം ശുപാര്‍ശകള്‍ സ്വീകരിക്കികയും. തൊഴില്‍ ചെയ്യാന്‍ സ്ഥലവും,യന്ത്ര സമഗ്രഹികളും തൊഴിലാളികള്‍ക്ക് ലഭ്യമാക്കാനുള്ള പദ്ധതികളും അനുവദിച്ചു.

കയര്‍ മേഖലയിലെ പ്രതിസന്ധി മറികടക്കുന്നതിന്ന്‍ സര്‍കാരും തൊഴിലാളികളും ഒരുപോലെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുകയും ജനങ്ങള്‍ ഓരോ വീടിലും ഓരോ കയര്‍ ഉല്‍പ്പന്നങ്ങള്‍ എന്ന ആശയം പ്രവര്‍ത്തികമാക്കണമെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു.

When Coir Kerala went to its final day, it is getting more participation among the public. There we can see huge crowd coming for exhibition.

The fourth edition of Coir Kerala is gaining more support from all over Kerala who came to visit the fest. The fest is fully covered with different companies include manufactures, exporters and also buyers from domestic as well as international market.

At the same time government is also happy with the reaction that they are getting from the visitors and looking forward.

The exhibitors came to display their products are also happy with the business and support that they got from the public and they are expecting the same in the coming years, they said.

While comparing with last three editions, this year there were lots of buyers as well as sellers and also different kinds of products made from coir and natural fibre.

Smt. Rani George, Secretary Coir said the whole department members are feeling happy with feedback from public.

 She also thanked all buyers and suppliers who all have participated in the fourth edition of Coir Fest 2014.

Foam mattings (India) ltd is a government of Kerala undertaking. Incorporated 1979, FOMIL is engaged in the promotion manufacture and marketing of coir just and sisal product.

The essence of all FOMIL products is eco- friendliness. Cent percent of its products are made from natural fibers like coir, jute, sisal, cotton, sea grass, flax, paper and hemp.

A highly skilled manpower and dedicated, result driven management has been the key strength of foil all long. Over 200 specially trained skilled hands in the manufacturing plant oversee the perfection of every single product that leaves the facility.

FOMIL’s wide range of products is well complemented by its accent on technology, infrastructure and machinery. It has a capacity to latex-back up to 3.6 million square meters of mattings of 4 Mt widths per annum, on a three- shift basis.

Speaker of the session Sri N. Venugopal, Member of Alleppey Company said in his speech, about the present condition of fibre production and also its plantation.

The export of fibre products was started by Kerala but at present situation in Kerala is worst is because of non-availability of raw material in the state.

He said, before in Kerala there was a production unit of about 30000 metric tons but now it has got reduced and now Kerala is buying the raw material from states like Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh etc.

Now at present Kerala is exporting only 150 tons of fibre to different parts of the world. This made other states to export fibre in huge amount, he said.

The reason for the reduction is due to no changes implemented in the processing of fibre in the sector and another reason he said is that there is no initiative from the side of government as well as co-operative sectors in the state.

He also added that 60% of the fibre for the production are importing from other states of Kerala.

Panel Chairman Smt Rani George IAS, Secretary Coir said that the challenge facing in the sector is scarcity of raw material and also from the available sources production are not in large quantity.

When she said about opportunity, mentioned the need qualitative raw material and the husk collection scheme which is not made in practice.

Panel Member Dr. K Madanan, Director of Coir development said that to implement new familiar to obtain the husk, yarn and raw materials.

Panel Member Sri Rajendra Prasad, Chairman KSCC told that board will take appropriate steps to attain availability of raw material within the Kerala.

Sri K.M Raju, Chief Administrator Coirfed said that for collection of husk in the state all the groups are big failure so an immediate actions to be taken.

Smt Deepthi R Nayar,Marketing Officer Coir Development Board said different groups among the societies can come forward to help the collection of husk.

For the collected husk or raw material a well-established infrastructure also need to be development by the concerned authority, she added

Coir Kerala 2014 - Entrepreneurs needs to come forward

Hon’ble Minister for Civil Aviation Sri K.C. Venugopal, inaugurated the seminar of soft skills for entrepreneurs.

Sri Rajan T Nair, Lecture of Entrepreneurship Institute of India said in his presentation that the increase in coir exports means there is a huge scope of demand for the coir products in the market both domestic and international.

H also told about the qualities needed for an entrepreneur and also requested the gathering to start entrepreneur business in coir with innovative technique.

 There is a large support from the government as well as different co-operative sectors of the state, he added.

He said that entrepreneurs can focus on MSME (Micro Small Medium Enterprise) were opportunities are in plenty.

Panel Chairman Sri K.R Rajendra Prasad Chairman KSCC said in his speech that only new entrepreneurs can develop this sector to great extent.

Panel Member Dr. Jossit Kurian Additional Biotech Cherthala, entrepreneurs should come with creative ideas. There should also be changes in new development concepts.

Panel Member Dr. C.N Manoj, Entrepreneurship is a mixture of different factors and from this others should also get inspiration.
